Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow

Early Thursday morning it began to snow. We all woke up to a snow covered ground and the kids wanted to play in it but we had to go to school. Little did we know then that we would have a lot more snow to play in when we got home later that day. We had record snowfall and over the course of two days received a foot of snow! I was so glad that Brent was off on Friday because we all got to stay home and play in the snow. We all loved it except for Berkley who hates any kind of water, LOL!! It was truly a day I will never forget as the only time I have seen this much snow is when we went to Creed, CO. Since it was Valentine's weekend Brent and I went to dinner at Maggiano's my favorite Italian food place! The kids stayed home and had fun playing with Ms. Autumn their babysitter. When we came home the kids had just finished painting her nails and fixing her her, yes even Brayden was involved. LOL!! It was an awesome weekend and loved celebrating my 16 Valentine's day with my honey.

Before school on Thursday.

Snowing a little harder when we got home.

Snow Angel!

My snowman attempt with the kids help.

When Brent came home on Thursday he decided my snowman wasn't big enough.

This was his snowman!

This is what we woke up to Friday morning.

Playing in the snow :-)

A foot of snow in Texas is crazy!

Peyton could hardly walk in it.

White Christmas 2009

Christmas morning we awoke to a yard of white snow! It had started snowing Christmas Eve and stayed on the ground for a wonderful white Christmas. This year Peyton was the first to awake because she wanted milk. She walked right by the tree and said nothing, since it was about 6 in the morning I did not bring it to her attention, LOL! A few hours later I heard Brayden yelling Mommy, Daddy, Santa came and he ate his cookies and drank the milk :-) They were so excited so we quickly woke up and went in the living room to see the joy on their faces! It wasn't long before the wrapping paper was flying. After opening presents and taking things out of boxes and putting about a million batteries in things we got ready for Christmas presents round 4! This year we celebrated with Brent's family at his sister and boyfriends house out in Mineola. The kids opened presents and then finally the adults had their turn! The kids got so many new toys, Brent got a gift card to buy some new clothes and well I think I got the best present of all.. I got the Cricut Expression that I have longed for, LOL!! We ate lunch and then after a long day returned home to crash and burn :-) It was a wonderful Christmas and am extremely thankful for my husband, children and family because they are all wonderful in their own ways!
The following are just a few pics of all the toys and games the kids got for Christmas! I wasn't able to get everything on camera and if I did you would be looking at pics for days. HeHe!!

He really wanted the big Spike but this will have to do for now!

Brayden and Peyton hop around the house on these things.

His John Deere boots and Peyton got some cute pink ones.

Her doll house with babies that she won't leave the house without.

Brayden got the Cars fishing game and Peyton got a princess one.

His new big boy fishing pole and tackle box that will come in handy this spring!

Opening presents at Aunt TiTi's.

His 35 shot dart gun, oh my! Thank you NaNa B.

Peyton, loves all of her new Barbie's!

This desk used to belong to his daddy. Brent's name is on the chair and Nana B. repaired and refinished it and added Brayden's name up above the pencil tray. He loves it and has been using it while working with his Preschool workbooks. This will be a great place for homework when he starts school in August!

Christmas Eve 2009

On Christmas eve we went to Brent's Uncle Bud's house, which is a family tradition. We had some wonderful ham, brisket and lots of sides to choose from. Of course what dinner would be complete without dessert! We had a wonderful time visiting with family and the kids got to play with their cousins. After dinner the kids and us big kids got to open our presents! Thank you to everyone for the great gifts, they are much appreciated :-)

Updates

We have done several fun things this month but I've been a bit of a bad mommy and not taken pics. So I thought I would just tell you all what we've been up to. We attempted our first gingerbread house this year, well gingerbread barn. It was the most messy thing I have ever done and the kids and I were covered in frosting. It was fun but not sure I will attempt it again, LOL! We also went to Santaland close to Tyler with our good friends the List family. It is a really neat display of lights that you drive through. The kids loved it! This past Saturday night we attended a Christmas play at Cowboy Church in Terrell. Logan and Morgan participated in it so it was neat to see them singing and be reminded that Jesus is the reason for the season!

Updates on the kiddos -

Brayden had his 4 yr. check up this month and got up to date on all of his shots. He's all ready for school next year! His weight was in the 50th percentile and only in the 10th percentile on his height. I keep praying for a growth spurt for my baby boy! He has been having trouble squinting and his eyes still seem to turn in a bit so he went back to his pediatric opthamologist. The good news is that right now he doesn't seem to need surgery again but he will have to wear glasses. Wish me luck keeping up with them!

Peyton had her 3 yr. check up this month also and didn't have to have vaccinations but mean ol mom made her get the seasonal flu and swine flu shots. She is in the 75th percentile for both her height and weight. I knew their was a reason why she was wearing the same size as her brother!

Here's a few pics of the kiddos ready to go to Olive Garden for my side of the family's Christmas get together. They loved the fact that they got to open Christmas presents early this year!

Christmas Party

The kids had their Christmas party at school and this year daddy was able to make it! The kids sang a song that they had learned and exchanged books. Of course they had a feast with lots of sugar and goodies to go with it. They had fun and were super hyped when we left for their Christmas break, yeah me! LOL!!

Brownie Christmas trees that I made for the party!

WP Christmas Parade

On Saturday the 5th we celebrated Logan & Morgan's birthday's at Bouncin Around in Forney. The kids have been there several times but love it every time we go! I'm sure it helped that we were there to celebrate his best buddy's birthday and his little sister's too. I was so.... glad that Brent was able to take the day off to go the party with us plus he was able to put up our Christmas lights during the day. Later that night we met back up with the List Family and went to the Wills Point Christmas parade. It was COLD but so.. much fun, well until we thought we had lost Logan. Thank goodness he had just run a little bit ahead of us and we caught up to him! We topped the night off with some hot cocoa at the good ol DQ. It was a great day with our good friends and we always have fun together.

Brent just finishing the lights.

All of the kids were bundled up waiting for the parade to start.

Bass Pro & Santa

We took the kids to Bass Pro Shop in Garland to see Santa and tell them what they wanted for Christmas this year. They were all excited and both did very well waiting in the long line to see the big guy. It was finally our turn and big brother Brayden went first and told Santa what he wanted and had his picture taken. Then, it was Peyton's turn and her smile quickly turned upside down when we asked her to sit on Santa's knee. She was not having any part of that so I sat in the chair with her on my knee and Santa beside us. The picture speaks for itself! After we saw Santa the kids got to make Santa ornaments out of fishing bober's to take home. Just before we left we waited in line for Brayden to get to fish in the small pond out front. It was about to be his turn and then a down pour happened so I guess we'll have to go back again!
