Firefly

The kids got these new Firefly toothbrushes that flash while you brush your teeth and when they stop flashing is when you are supposed to stop brushing. The kids love to play with them and it's a great way to get them to actually brush their teeth! I hope you get a good laugh.

The brushing begins (you can kinda see the yellow light on the toothbrush)

Trying to brush his tounge.

The aftermath!!

She mostly just chews on it but at least she's learning.

Peyton's not nearly as messy as Brayden!

Nestle Tollhouse

I thought this post was appropriate since Brent and I were just talking to some of our good friends about how kids can eat the tiniest thing and make the biggest mess! Brent and I went to the Nestle Tollhouse Cafe in Firewheel on Tuesday and we brought the kids back cookies as a surprise. I will let the pictures speak for themselves!

Family Update

I know it has been awhile since I've posted a new blog, sorry! Well to update everyone thus far. Peyton started school April 1st and she is doing great! She was not very happy at first when we left but we were told that she quit crying quickly after we left. Her teachers love her and Brayden so much. They keep telling us we need to have another one because they are so cute! LOL!!

On Saturday the 5th the kids and I went to my parent's house to visit and Popa cooked us some fajita nummies (as Brayden calls it). The kids had fun helping popa fill up the dogs water bucket, more like playing in the water. My mom took some pics that I'll have to get from her to post those.

Brent and I went to the Samsung 500 race on Sunday, April 6th and we had a great time! It was nice to spend some time together without the kids. The race itself was a little boaring and I got a little sunburned but all in all it was fun.

On a sad note, Brent's aunt Sandra passed away April 3rd. Her funeral was today and the service was nice, it was neat to see the picture slideshow. Please pray for Brent and his family that they will be able to cope with this loss.

Good Friday/Easter

We had an awesome Good Friday, did some shopping and just played outside in the nice warm weather! Easter Sunday came and so did the Easter bunny. Brayden was so excited that the Easter bunny visited him. We got dressed for church and ventured off, once we got there Peyton went in the nursery just fine but Brayden wouldn't leave our side. We made it through most of the church service before Brayden really started getting anxious to leave. We then headed off to Nena and Popa Demers house for lunch and an egg hunt. We had aroz con pollo (yummy, couldn't get enough) chese and chicken tacos. For dessert we had an assortment of cheesecake's from the Cheesecake Factory and watermelon. After blowing bubbles and the egg hunt we loaded back up and headed to Forney to spend some time with Brent's family. While we were there the kids were checking out the dog and new puppy and Peyton decided to get her little finger stuck in the door to the cage. I usually pride myself on being the calm one of the family and generally always feel like I can handle an emergency situation but for some reason I did not handle this accident very well. Peyton was screaming and turning blue because she was crying so hard and holding her breath. When I first looked at her finger it looked as though the tip of her finger was completly bent downwards and had a nice cut on the top of it. We bolted out the door and went to Care United that was just up the road. Of course by the time we saw a nurse/Dr. her finger and begun to bend back straight but was still bleeding. They did and x-ray and cleaned her finger off. Thankfully nothing was broken and the cut was not deep enough to need sticthes. The staff was wonderful and they were very fast. I think we were in and out in maybe less than an hour. After that whole escipade we went back to Cristi and Bobby's house for another egg hunt and some more dessert. The kids were so tired and it had been such a long day that Brayden fell asleep in his Nena Billingsly's arms and Peyton fell asleep on the way home. Brayden crashed on the couch for a little while then didn't go to bed until 10:30. I hate it when his nap schedule is all thrown off. Peyton went to bed around 8:00. I took a few pics to capture the weekend!

Peyton enjoyed reading her book to Berkley.

Brayden decided to take over reading, note Berkley covering his ears!

Brayden decided to move to a more comfortable location.

Horton Hears A Who

We decided to take the kids to the movie theater to see Horton Hears A Who. We have taken them to the drive in theater before a couple of times and it went over okay so we decided to take the leap and try to go to a real movie theater. Going, we knew that Peyton was going to be a challenge in the fact that she's 18 months and will not sit still for two seconds but not being able to find a babysitter during the week and knowing how much Brayden loves watching movies and knew that he would enjoy it we decided to brave it on our own. We got to the movie about 30 minutes before it started and sat at the very back so that if the kids wanted to stand they wouldn't block anyone's view. We had our popcorn and snacks and were all set, the movie theater began to fill up and the previews started. The kids were so.. excited when the movie began and then we got about 15 minutes into the movie and Peyton would not be still she was being loud which inturn started making Brayden anxious and he started asking when we were leaving. We couldn't take it any longer and didn't want to ruin it for the other movie goers so we left. Luckily we were able to get our money back so that was nice. I'm glad that we had the experience but don't think we will be trying that again anytime soon!

Shades

With the weather being warmer this past week we have been playing outside alot lately. We had to get the kids each a new pair of sunglasses and Brayden likes to wear his but Peyton is still getting used to wearing them. Things have been going well for us and Peyton is going to start attending the Parent's Day Out program in April with bubba. I'm not sure what i'm going to do with my freetime on those days but i'm quite sure I will find something to do! Ha Ha!! I'm glad that she will be in the same class with Brayden for at least a few months until they move him up to the big kids classroom. I hope this will help her transition into everything having her big bubba there to teach his cc girl. His teachers are excited to have Peyton but don't want Brayden to go since he is such a ham and make them all laugh.

Too cool with their shades on!

I have to capture these moments as much as possible since that doesn't happen that often!

Brayden up to bat

Here she comes...

and here she goes!

Snow Day

We finally got to see snow this winter!! Brayden was so... excited when he woke up this morning and we told him that it had snowed outside. We had to get dressed immediately and go outside to play in it! Peyton as you will see from the pictures was really not too sure about it all but of course Brayden had a blast playing in it.

The snow ball fight begins!

I think his look speaks for itself.

Brayden's turn

Payback time!

Brayden was laughing and quite amused with himself after throwing a snowball at daddy!

Peyton was not so pleased to be a part of the snowball fight.

I'm getting outta here!

Brayden is helping to clear the snow off the car.

Brayden trying to scoop the snow up with his pail.

Notice Peyton is just starring at the snow, she was not that crazy about it all.

Our little Eskimo's!

Peyton was ready to call it quit after she fell down in the snow.

Brayden finally got cold enough to want to go back inside.
