Pumpkin Carving

On Wednesday I decided to let the kids carve their pumpkins. I had wanted to wait until Brent would be home to help but unfortunately he had to work open to close all week. I bravely encountered this messy task on my own and they actually did pretty well. They did most of the cleaning of their pumpkins and Brayden helped me carve his a little. We had fun and after the clean up I baked the seeds which we love to eat, even the kids enjoyed them this year!

Peyton's First Potty

Well as I had stated in the "Updates" blog Peyton has taken an interest in the potty lately. Every time I would go to change her diaper she would tell me she wanted to potty so we would go to the bathroom and would try but nothing ever happens. With the wise advice of my older sister to let her keep doing this and eventually she would go potty I have kept it up. I am proud to say that tonight for the first time she actually went tee tee in the potty. I was so excited and proud of her we cheered! Peyton sd. "Hi five" and then Brayden came in and I told him what CC had done and he began to jump up and down and say "woo hoo". I of course had to take a few pictures to commemorate the occasion and then we immediately called Brent to tell him and Peyton sd" I tee tee potty". We are so excited, I'm hoping we can keep it up! Wish us good luck!

So proud of herself!

Tee tee.

Rockwall Pumpkin Patch

On Sunday we took the kids to the same pumpkin patch we took them to last year. It is in Rockwall and they have a little maze and scarecrow set up for picture taking. We had hoped to take them to a place in Canton this year where they have hay rides, face painting and other games for the kids to play but unfortunately we weren't able to make it out there but maybe next year. The kids still had fun picking out their pumpkin and running around the maze. We will carve them this week and I'll post more pics when we do that. Here are a few of the patch.

Sharks First Game

Brayden has his first official T-ball game on Saturday. Brent wasn't able to make it this week but Nana & Popa Demers were there. I appreciate their help so much! Brayden's team was home but their are no scores nor does anyone get tagged, everyone simply gets a chance at bat and to play the outfield. Brayden was having a hard time getting into the game this time and I hope it was just because he was more interested in hanging out with Nana & Popa. Brayden's coaches were really great though and helped to re-direct his attention to the game. The first two times at bat he would hit the ball and run to the pitcher's mound but finally the third time he actually ran to first base and since he was last to bat he got to do a home run! We practice at home but their were so many kids/coaches on the field that I think it just confused him, he's having fun and that makes me happy. He officially has two more games and his last Saturday will be practice only, so if anyone would like to attend they play at Heartland baseball field in Forney. His next game will be this coming Saturday, November 1st at 9:00 and the next game is on the 8th at 10:00.

Warm-up practice.

A little confused on where to throw the ball.

Getting better at throwing to first base. At least he always goes after the ball!

Cheese..eeeee

Starts out good, then not so great! He did much better running to second.

Running around like bubba.

Last at bat and did so... much better!

I think maybe he could see better with his helmet off.

Updates

Our babies are growing up so fast that I wanted to jot down some of the things that the kids have said lately and are interested in.

So the latest games we have been playing are Hide N' Seek and Tag Freeze they love them! Oh and we have already begun singing Christmas songs, I love it!
Brayden has such an imagination, today he picked up an acorn as we were leaving school and sd "I want to take it home to feed the squirrel" the last time I checked we didn't have one! Then when we got home he sd where can I put the acorn so we put it in the backyard and after about 30 minutes he sd "oh no the squirrel hasn't eaten it he dosen't like it!" He is so.. silly.

Many of you know that Peyton for some reason calls Brayden, Pey Pey, which we think is because that is what he always calls her.

The other day the kids were playing and actually being sweet to each other when Brayden handed a toy to Peyton and she sd "thank you bubba" and Brayden sd "momma she knows my name!"

Peyton is like a little parrot these days she will repeat anything and everything you say which is not always a great thing. We have to be careful of what we say that's for sure.

Lately she has taken an interest in the potty, everytime I go to change her diaper she says she wants to go potty. I have been taking her and sitting her on the potty but she has yet to do anything I am hoping that by doing this she will one day actually go potty and we will all be so excited that she will continue to do it. One can dream! I am glad that she is finally taking an interest in it where as just a few months ago she wanted nothing to do with it so we are making progress.

Here are a few pics I took today.

Her I love cupcake shirt! He,He!!

Finally got a good one!

Sharks Practice

This past Saturday, Brayden had his second t-ball practice out at Heartland. This time Brent got to come and see him practice which I was so happy about. Nana & Popa Demers came too to help cheer Brayden on. I'm glad they were able to make it and Popa Demers helped me with Peyton since she looses interest very quickly at his practices. Thank ya'll again for coming! Brayden is doing better with the practice drills, he still has a little trouble always knowing what base to run to but he's learning. We have been practicing in our backyard and he is getting much better at stopping the ball with his glove. Nana & Popa Demers also just bought him a new t-ball stand so we have been practicing hitting the ball super hard and where to hold his hands on the bat. This coming Saturday he will have his first actual game and we are so excited! Go get em Sharks!!

First at bat, he is always eager to bat!

I was trying to block the sun but as you can see I wasn't tall enough.

Running to 2nd base!

Daddy helping him practice.

After each practice, notice who the loudest SHARK is!

Small Fry T-Ball

Brayden had his first T-ball practice on Saturday. I was so.. excited for him especially since I tried to sign him up this past spring but he missed the age deadline by 3 or 4 days. Nana Demers and Aunt Monky came out to see him play and help me wich Peyton which was much appreciated. All of the practices and games are held at Heartland on Saturday mornings so unfortunately Brent is unable to come, but we took lots of pictures and video too! He was so full of energy when we got there and all he wanted to do was run. I wasn't sure how he would do since we only play at home with his plastic bat and balls so he had to borrow some extra ones they had there. At first he was a little awkward with everything, he had to learn all of the bases and the first time he got to run to first base he ran completly past it. It was like that scene from Water Boy where they tell him to run home and he runs all the way to his house! Oh well, live and learn he did begin to pick everything up pretty quickly especially since several of the other kids he was playing with had previously played in the spring season. I was very proud of my big boy and glad that he was having fun with it. At the end of the practice the group had to come up with a team name and we went through a list, Rangers, Astros, Braves, Elephants "that was a kids suggestion" then we finally all agreed on the Sharks! GO SHARKS!!!

After practice we headed to ACADEMY to get Brayden some new stuff since we now knew what he could use. He did have his Daddy's glove thanks to he Pawpaw Billingsly but the hole for the hand is a little to big for him but he will be able to use it eventually. We went crazy at the store over all of the cute T-ball stuff and thanks to Nana & Popa Demers for Brayden's first T-ball bat and his new glove. He loves them and we can't wait to practice with his base set and official t-ball's.

Learning the bases.

Coming in to second base.

Rounding third and headed for home.

First time at bat and he nocked over the T-ball stand.

This was his "Water Boy" moment! LOL!!

Second time and did a little better hitting.

Did much better running to first base.

Watching and heading to third base.

SAFE!!!

Video of their practice in action. He cracks me up with his hat!

GO SHARKS!!
