Fossil Rim Wildlife

We have been planning a trip to Fossil Rim for a few months now and every time we were going to go it would rain. The weather finally held out for us and we got to take the kids and Nini and Paw Paw Billingsly went with us. When you get there you can buy food to feed the animals so we bought some and began on the trail. At first the kids were so excited to begin seeing the animals and as the journey progressed and the animals began approaching the car both of the kids headed straight for the back of the car. They sat in the very back with Nini for most of the trip and every now and then Brayden would get brave and throw out some food. I couldn't believe my son was scared of the animals because he is usually so fearless. The animals would just come up to the car and eat right from your hand and one of the Oryx rubbed it's antler back and forth against our mirror it was too funny! At the mid-point of the drive there is a Cafe, Gift shop and kids petting zoo. We stopped and had lunch and of course the kids had to each get something from the gift shop. Peyton got a tiger shaped purse and Brayden got a bug catching kit. After that we took the kids over to the petting zoo and they got to pet the goats. As we were leaving one of the goats followed Paw Paw B right out of the gate and the care taker had to coax it back in with food. The view of the hills were so pretty and as we would go up and down the hill Nini and Brayden would say Up, Up, Up and Down, Down, Down. It was so much fun and well worth the drive!

On our way, watching Monster's Inc.

It's A Whopper

The kids were playing at Nini and Paw Paw's house a few weeks ago and they decided it would be fun to go fishing. The video's were too cute not to post!

Memorial Day 2008

On Memorial Day the kids and I went to Annie M's and Uncle T's house for a cookout! The kids played on a slip and slide and had too much fun. Peyton liked splashing in the pool end but wouldn't go sliding down it. Brayden had no fear and loved slipping and sliding!

Slipping and sliding!

Peyton tried to be brave and then changed her mind.

Splishing and a splashing!

Heading back for another turn.

Brayden would run and then slide on his but.

Wet Zone

On Sunday it was so hot that we decided to take the kids to Wet Zone in Rowlett. They have a kiddie area there and best of all they are not that expensive. They apparently have an eighth day of the month special. It was eight dollars per person except Peyton because she's under two and that paid for our entrance a yummy hot dog, chips and drink for each of us! Since we never really know how much time we will get at our outing depending on when we get started etc. It was an awesome deal! We actually lasted three hours and it would have been longer had Brent and I put on sunscreen. The kids of course were doused in it but we thought oh we need some sun. LOL!! Brent got so burned and the tops of my shoulders got a little. The kids had so much fun and I thought that they would give us a hard time leaving but I am happy to report that they behaved quite well and no fussing what so ever! Peyton doesn't really like anything spraying at her so at first she didn't want to go near the water but after watching big bubba for a few minutes she was ready to play! Brayden loved it and he had a blast playing with everything and for some reason he thinks he can swim. He would just head out into the water with no fear of course we had a tight rein on both of them and there were tons of lifeguards around which is nice to know. I am sure we will be going again.

Indoor Camp Out

Ever since Brayden got his tent for his birthday he has wanted to have a camp out. On Saturday we decided to finally have a camp out in the living room. The kids loved it! We set up a big pallet for Brent and I and Brayden and Peyton laid in the tent. We watched the Chipmunks meet Frankenstein and then it was time for bed. Brent and Brayden crashed out while watching the movie but Peyton was a different story. She's not used to being able to get up and move around so she had a hard time falling asleep. I went and put her in her bed and she was out within five minutes.
